Why Resilient
Rhythms exists
Our vision is to meet the need for spiritual formation resources created with, and for Australian churches.
Our storyResilient Rhythms began in 2021 with a deep desire to see followers of Jesus form a faith that endures by creating spiritual formation resources that bless and equip the Australian church.
After 18 months of slowly discussing with people around Australia, we launched our first major resource - the Resilient Rhythms Journal - in December 2022.
Our hope and prayer is to become a hub for cultivating spiritual formation resources in collaboration with Australian churches that enable deep formation in the way of Jesus.
I'm Mitch, a pastor from Sydney, Australia, serving at Anchor Church Northern Beaches.
I love Jesus, my wife, Suz, and our sons Jamie and Clay, people, coffee, being outdoors, and reading a good book (in roughly that order).

next chapter?
We’re looking to intentionally form partnerships with local churches along the way too, so please get in touch if we can partner together for the sake of Jesus’ kingdom.
More by the authorReleased in 2023 through Wipf & Stock Publishers, Finding Peace through Prayer is Mitch’s first published book.
It is a practical guide for Christians living in hard times — and therefore, it's a book for all Christians.
Through seven biblical prayer practices, Mitch draws upon his own journey through suffering to offer a gentle companion for those seeking to keep trusting Jesus in the most difficult moments.

The Finding Peace through Prayer discussion guide is designed to be a companion to the book—a way of expanding on the practices contained within its pages—by providing space to read the Scriptures in conversation with other followers of Jesus so that you might be led to develop real-life practices for praying in hard times.
Each of the seven practices from the book has a study devoted to it. They’re short studies that follow a simple outline;
1. Introduction: There is a short introduction about each practice, followed by some brief questions to get you thinking about what the practice is and why it’s important as followers of Jesus.
2. Scripture Observation: The bulk of the study is taken up with reading the Scriptures for yourself and discussing what God’s word has to say on each prayer practice.
3. Practice Questions: Each of the studies concludes with practice questions, which are designed to give you space to practise the practices in real life. This discussion guide takes the theory outlined in the book and makes it tangible in your prayer life. There is also a ‘personal practice’ question, designed to give you a practical way of implementing what you’ve studied in your life in the coming week.
It will serve you best if you use this study guide alongside a copy of Finding Peace through Prayer: Seven Practices for Praying in Hard Times, but it certainly isn’t necessary. The study guide is also designed to be printable in A5 format so that you can tuck it into your Bible or inside the cover of the book.
